5 Tips for Using Feng Shui to Increase Your Writing Income and Productivity

LallaGatta Erotic Romance with an Edge by Author Laura Tolomei
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of organizing your space in order to create harmony in your life. Basically, it is the idea that by clearing your space you will make it possible for the Chi or energy to flow more smoothly around you and the objects in your room thus creating less resistance. Feng Shui has been around for centuries and while it may seem like hocus pocus, through my own experience with it and the experience of others, there is plenty of evidence that it works. And it can work for you to help increase your writing productivity.

Here are five tips for working the practice of Feng Shui into your life gradually.

1. Clear all clutter. One of the biggest detractors of productivity is clutter. If you have a ton of clutter on your desk and around your home office then you’re not going to feel inspired to write, you’re going to instead feel either as if you have to clean, or that you need to leave the room so you don’t have to look at the clutter, or that guilty because you haven’t cleaned! None of which is conducive to writing productivity.

2. Rearrange your home office. You want to rearrange your home office so your desk sits in a position of power. You can do this by making sure you face the door, and that there is a strong wall at your back. This will make you feel secure and settled and you’ll be more likely to feel comfortable and in the mood to write.

3. Find a piece of art that depicts a river, the ocean or a waterfall. Some sort of art with water in it. In Feng Shui, water is associated with Career/Employment, so hanging apiece of water art above your desk will help to direct the “flow” of money and paying writing projects to you.

4. Add some gold tones to your home office décor. This will help you to increase your writing income no matter what you write. If you write fiction, it will help to increase your royalty payments and book sales. If you write non-fiction, articles, copywriting or any other type of writing it will help to increase your income.

5. Frame your book covers, or award winning articles etc. and hang them near your front entrance. This is a way in Feng Shui to own your successes and to invite more writing successes to you.

If you employ these five things to start, you will begin to notice both an increase in your writing productivity and the money you make from it.
